Located in the historic monumental area of the Rome Termini station hall, Acafè is a structure capable of fitting within the context while being its star attraction. A 24-meter long white Corian strip shell rises from the floor and the mezzanine, creating an architectural space that blends functionality and design. Its fluid spatial volumetry modulates its temporary use. The different functions according to the time available for each user are substantial in a location where speed and ever-changing travel flows affect sales. The shell, perceived as an absolute place, a neutral and uniform case dominated by contrasts of glossy and opaque white surfaces, is the central feature of the station gallery, thanks to its spatial shape.
